Booxter Lite App Reviews

Good but ...

At first I thought it was a great program, able to search through the ISBN # of the books, until I went to put in the 31st book. It seems you cannot load anymore than 30 books into the free program, you must buy the full program. What a rip, dont bother with the free version, not worth the trouble to get all 30 of your hundreds of books loaded and have to reload them into a different program or buy the full version.

It may be what I want , BUT...

This may be exactly what I want to compile my collection of movies. BUT. Why can it only be input by bar code? As it is It is useless to me. I am not going out to storage to manually input for days on end all my books and movies into this. I need to be able for it to search my HDDs for titles, search for metadata and then let me organize my collections. So this program is Useless to me as it stands. Might be fine for those beginning a collection and have a hand scanner, and who have endless hours of nothing better to do.

Exellent but..

This is a good program if, like me, you have about 300 books and no method to keep track of them.Wish they had said the lite version ONLY HOLDS 30 books before it makes you upgrade to full-the full version costs 29.99 or something like that. I also wish you didnt have to click the plus button when you wanted to add multiple authors or subjects-its a bit of a hassle.

Nice app but..

it was a ok app but, there where many thiings in which i found it lacking. 1) the barcode reader didnt work properly (i tried alot of my University books but it could not identify them) 2) it cannot track the name of journals ( the owner has to do al the work) I think you could buy "Bento" and be better served

Doesnt work, and theres no way to figure out why

Ive used the desktop version (v 17.), so Id like to upgrade. Unfortunately, the program doesnt appear to be functioning the way it claims to. Could I be missing something? Perhaps -- but since th developer cant be bothered to provide even the most basic of support -- not even an FAQ -- despite the programs lack of basic in-app help, I have no real way of knowing if buying the full version would be worth it. The free iPhone companion app is also worthless: its most basic function, scanning, doesnt work nor is there even a scintilla of an explanation of HOW the app as a whole is supposed to work. Worst user interface ever.

Very Nice App

Once I found the scan/video option to enter in my books, I filled the 30 book limit in a little over a minute. The flexibility in display, type of collection, items to search for, etc… all make this an easy to use and powerful personal cataloging system. If that is what you are looking for, you will NOT be disappointed.

Comic Book Scanning Needed

I am in need of a good comic book library tool. I gave this a try thinking I could scan the barcode of my collection in. Too bad this is not the case. If they are able to implement this - this tool would be a 5 star.

ISBN autofill

If it only could autofill books info by entered ICBN... or theres no database in the world?

Comic Book Scanning Need!

Its very good at what it does, but if Im even going to consider the full purchase, it needs to get comic book scanning up and running. There are no really good comic book cataloging tools for the mac, and true collectors probably acquire 500 comics a year if not more. Bring this feature online and im in 100% for the Pro Version, Booxter!

Lite Version is Pointless

I was elated to find this program seeing as how I have hundreds of movies. I thought it would be awesome to have them all catelogued and to be able to relate which actors appear together in movies, so on and so forth. Unfortunately, I added around 17 movies when it told me I had to upgrade to the full version to add more. To my surprise, the full version costs $39.99. I find this very unreasonable. I dont know anyone that owns less than 17 movies so I find the lite version pointless. If Booxter would lower the price of the full version, its a great program. Otherwise, its pointless.

Great App

I downloaded the lite version to see what it is like. I need an app to take inventory of my huge movie collection. I would like to upgrade to full version, but I cant bring myself to paying $40.00 for this app. That is an outrages price for a simple app. I am willing to pay $20.00 and thats it. Great app though.

Booxter vs Readerware

Ive been using Readerware for years for my 2000+ book collection. Its been functional, but cludgy to use. I checked out the lite version of Booxter and love it. Some of the reviewers think the full version price of $40 is too much... for a 100 book library perhaps, but for my collection, I think its well worth the price.

ITunes-like software for Books, Movies, etc

Ive been looking for years for an iTunes-like software that can help me organize ALL my media (not just music). This software does just that. It excels for books and movies. Booxter still needs better comic book capabilities, but despite that, it is an amazing program - a new standard, really

Comics!!!!!!!

Dont put a comics feature in unless it actually works! Thank goodness I tried the FREE version first. I tried scanning a comic over and over but, Booxter couldnt find i on the Comicbook Database it is supossedly connecting to! I found it just fine! And it doesnt recognize xls files!

No video game specific library. Dumb!

I suppose it is absurd to think that anyone would have a game collection.

Good but....

This is very nice app, however. the 30 book limit is annoying. One thing i would like to see is folders (or something like it) so that in my list for an author i can have a list for each series. the upgrade costs $40 that is a very high price. i would pay $20, but there is no way ill pay $40.

Worthless

This is basically a trial version of the full app -- not a "liter" version of it. It only allows you to add 30 books to the library without purchasing the $30 version of the app.

This is what Ive been looking for!

Great trial version, hit the 30 entry limit before I knew it. Had some issues initially with scanning barcodes via iSight, but found I was holding the code too close to the camera. Worked much better and faster once I held it farther back. Works great in conjunction with the free iPhone app for scanning!

Worthless

Totally worthless for comic books. This is one app I am glad I did not buy. The concept is great, only if it worked.

Not for hardcore collectors

Booxter seems a perfectly fine software for those who have a pretty regular and commercial collection. But in just my 3rd CD, it got the code completely messed up and it doesnt give you an option of finding a second possibility under that same barcode. The layout is also very wonky, with track lists all crammed together into a tiny square. Not a bit useful. But if you have a collection that is fairly mainstream and not very interested in minutia, Booxter may be more of your like.
