Doesnt work, and theres no way to figure out why

Ive used the desktop version (v 17.), so Id like to upgrade. Unfortunately, the program doesnt appear to be functioning the way it claims to. Could I be missing something? Perhaps -- but since th developer cant be bothered to provide even the most basic of support -- not even an FAQ -- despite the programs lack of basic in-app help, I have no real way of knowing if buying the full version would be worth it.

The free iPhone companion app is also worthless: its most basic function, scanning, doesnt work nor is there even a scintilla of an explanation of HOW the app as a whole is supposed to work. Worst user interface ever.
